We bring Skills for Life to more than 60 young people every week. With three vibrant sections meeting at dedicated HQ – The Den on Lindsay Road – we offer a safe, supportive space where children can grow, explore and thrive.

We make the most of the outdoors and the world around us. From recent adventures along the Jurassic Coast in Lulworth to upcoming explorations in the New Forest, our programme is packed with hands‑on challenges that build confidence, spark curiosity and inspire young people to try something new. Whether it’s learning a practical skill, taking on a team challenge or simply enjoying time with friends, every week brings something different.

We’re passionate about helping young people develop resilience, teamwork and leadership — and we’re always excited to welcome new families and volunteers. Whether you’d like to support behind the scenes or get involved in our weekly meetings, there’s a place for you here. Join us in empowering the next generation of Scouts and helping them discover what they’re truly capable of.

So, what do Scouts do?

Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing.

But, we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.

Every week we give almost half a million 4-25 year olds the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.

Everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of your young person’s physical ability – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it.
